FUEL FILTER
There is a fuel filter in the line from the fuel tank. See figure 23 for location. This filter is a throw away type. When it shows excessive dirt in the inside it should be replaced. When replacing the filter turn off the fuel valve. This valve is located on the underside of the fuel tank. See figure 23 for location. Open valve again after filter has been
replaced.
SPARK PLUGS
Every 100 hours remove plugs, check condition and reset to .025 inch (.63mm) gap or replace plugs if needed. Good operation conditions are indicated if plugs have a light coating of gray or tan deposit. A dead white, blistered coating could indicate an "over-rich" fuel mixture caused by clogged air cleaner or improper carburetor adjustment. Do not service plugs in poor condition - best results are obtained with new
plugs.
NOTE
Cleaning of spark plugs in cleaning . machines that use abrasive grit is not recommended. Spark plugs should be cleaned by scraping or wire brushing and washing with a commercial
solvent.
